Special Times With Family and Friends

I spent last weekend in Texas with my brother and sister. I borrowed my brothers boat on Saturday to take my friends out on the lake. He had to go too to drive the boat.

This is my 14 year old nephew, David, with his friend, Sarah. Aren't they cute! He taught me to wake board......cool fun!

Kathy and Michael (friends of mine from Colorado, now living in Austin) met us at Canyon Lake to go boating, skiing and tubing. Kathy tried tubing.....we thought she looked a little bored, so my brother speeded up the boat just a little. She looked like she was having a good time. We sure were.........

Wake Boarding Nana!

That's right.....it's really me! After a very "short" instructional session from my 14 year old nephew, I got up on the first try. He was very doubtful that I could do this since I am really old (49), but to everyone's surprise this water skiing Nana proved her abilities. My brother, Duane, would not even compete with me. Hey McKay......wanna go snow boarding?

After my wake boarding experience, I tried tubing with my nephew. Isn't he cute telling his dad to go faster while I am gritting my teeth and hanging on for dear life. Please, just remember, I am really old.

It Works!

That's right.....the water came in this morning and it's a beautiful thing. Ron LOVES his new toy. He went to town and bought some more of those tubes for irrigating. Here are pictures of him and his new ditch. He not only gets to play in the dirt all week, but now he gets to play in the water. By the way, we are expecting to have a high of 69 degrees today. I think fall is just around the corner.
