A New Camera!

I got a new digital camera! I chose a Nikon SLR D40 with the extended lens. I LOVE IT! Still the point and shoot kind of camera, but no delay in taking pictures. That little delay was annoying me and I want to "focus" in on my subjects........Rags was the only one around for me to photograph and I think I was annoying him. It's he cute?

What Has My Life Been Reduced To?

I've been asking this question lately. This is how I spend my days when I don't have plans to go into town. Looks like a good time, huh? This is Jean (Mama Pig) with our herd of cows. She's really a good girl. I was afraid of her at first (just because she weighs about 450 lbs). We've become good buddys....I talk to the animals. Sounds like Dr. Doolittle.........

The second picture is Ron with Brown Sugar. She's the calf that we raised from a bottle. Sweet girl and a good mama cow.

The Camera Died...Funeral Arrangements Later....

You know that really great digital camera that I got in August......it died! That goes to show you the quality of products on the market. I've never had any problems with any of my 35mm cameras. We had a flat screen TV that did the same thing after only 2 years.

Well, I got a phone call today from Best Buy. They are going to replace it for me, thank goodness. No out of pocket cost to me. I've been 3 weeks without it and I truly miss my digital. I had to resort to my 35mm camera and as much as I love it, I LOVE my digital camera much better. So, soon, you will be seeing pictures again from me and not my sample picture file. But here's another one just for fun!

Wedding Pictures......from 12 years ago!

I am getting so smart! No digital camera, but I did figure out how to scan pics and send them to my computer. These are pics of our wedding 12 years ago. Look at how young we were...I'm talking about the children. Hard to believe that Brandi has 4 children of her own and Dusty and Eric are now parents too! Just think how much happens in 12 years. While we still have Ron's mom with us, I lost my mom in July 2006. Isn't she as pretty as the bride?

Anniversary Giftsssssss......

Yesterday was our 12th anniversary! To my SURPRISE, Ron walked in with 2 dozen roses, 2 pillar candles, and 2 lottery tickets. Oh yeah....and a mushy, gushy card! "All this for me?" I replied. Not sure what the significance was with 2 of everything, but hey, I'll take it. I must have done doubley good since I'm taking care of the farm chores when he is not home. We had company for dinner since I'm the one staying home and we opted not to go out. I prepared a candle lit table and served a delicious roast, green beans, parmesan mashed potatoes and frozen peaches from the freezer.....yum! Desert was a homemade bourbon pecan pie. Gee....I really wish I had my digital camera to show you since this is just a picture from my sample pictures, but you get my drift, right?
